Kisses From Jack

What did Jack think of his vacation?

When I wrote Saltwater Kisses, I had no idea that it would go to the Top 100 in the kindle store for a month. I mean, I hoped it would, but every book is kind of like a lottery ticket. The first day it hit the list, I sat on the computer hitting refresh every 5 minutes just to make sure it was real and not a glitch. Even then, I kept expecting an email from Amazon saying it was all a mistake. Well, over a year later and it's still going strong!

When I was writing Saltwater, I really, really wanted to add in some things from Jack's viewpoint, but I didn't want to “Head hop”. There are some authors that can switch characters so flawlessly that I don't have to even read the heading at the beginning of the chapter to know that the voice has changed, but I wasn't sure I was one of them. Plus, I wasn't sure that it was the right choice for Saltwater Kisses to have two voices. (I'm going to go ahead and say that Top 100 status means I made the right choice!) So, I kept the entire book in first person.

But Jack's thoughts kept popping out at me.

So, as a bonus to fans, I re-wrote the first half of Saltwater Kisses from Jack's point of view.
It has Brandy, the secretary that took the photos and forced Emma to move to NY. It has the party (which means I got to bring in Owen, Robbie, Noah, Logan, and Aiden!) Rachel and Dean got to get in on the fun. (Oh how I love the brother/sister/boss/assistant relationship those two have going on!) It was a BLAST to get to go through all the current Kisses books and bring it all together šŸ™‚

Yes, in reading it, you will see a lot of repeats from other books. That's the danger of doing the same story from another point of view (all the dialogue and actions have to match!) but hopefully, I changed it up enough that it feels familiar rather than repeated.

I hope you all enjoy this short novella from Jack. Thank you for reading!

October Madness

Whew…. This fall is going by so fast! There has been a lot on my plate the past few weeks, and I am finally getting to the end of it… but that means I'll be going back for seconds soon!

First, a big thank you to everyone who has purchased and reviewed Champagne Kisses. After Amazon's little stunt of not giving it rank, I was really worried about it. I can't thank everyone who supported it enough. Thank you.

Second, I need to apologize for the delay on Freshwater Kisses. I had planned to get it out on Oct. 19th, but then my husband got sick. There is nothing like taking care of a grown man puking his guts out while a little boy looks on with disgust. Needless to say, I didn't get much done this past weekend and am now really glad everyone is feeling better. I am going to get it out as soon as possible!

Third, the BBW Romance Boxed Set. This one just makes me mad (and will probably get its own blog post in the near future). I have many friends in the Indie Romance world- the Insatiable Reads crew is FANTASTIC. As such, we share numbers. The BBW Romance Boxed Set outsold the Rock Star Romance Boxed Set as well as TWO other authors, all of whom made the USA Today and NYT Bestseller list. But the BBW folks didn't- and NYT and USA Today won't tell us why, even when confronted with the fact that we KNOW the numbers. The amazing Audrey Rose wrote this open letter, and it says all the things I want to say. NYT and USA Today DO NOT SHOW THE ACTUAL BEST SELLING BOOKS!!!!Ā Mainly though, it has me seeing red and really put a down on my day. šŸ™

Fourth,Ā  I am re-releasingĀ “Fire Always Burns”. It's new title is Burned, and it has a new cover, new edits, and new stuff! (That's been keeping me busy too!)

Fifth (I told you there was a lot going on!) ,Saltwater KissesĀ has been translated into German!Ā (Link coming soon) I am just fixing up the cover (Holy Cow are German words long!) but I am super excited to see it in another language šŸ˜€

Sixth, another Boxed Set! A friend of my mine calls the sets “author sample packs”. This one is all about Billionaires! My addition is “Woman of the Billionaire's Dreams”. There will be a volume 2 coming out in a couple of weeks, so pick that one up too!BoxSetARe
Amazon Billionaire Romance Boxed Set
Barnes & Nobel Billionaire Romance Boxed Set

And lastly, PRIZES!!!! There are two rafflecopters going on with some awesome prizes. Check them out! (all you have to do is click “like” on Facebook to enter!)
1.Ā  a Rafflecopter giveawayĀ (Indie Bookworm Pub: 5 $10 gift cards!

2. a Rafflecopter giveawayĀ ($50 gift card and 20 Romance Books)

Whew…. It's been a busy week. Now time to go focus on Robbie and Sam and get their edits done!

As I write this,Ā Saltwater KissesĀ is number #35 in the entire paid kindle store. For those of you that don't obsessively check book ranking, or even know what it is, this is a big deal. Like SUPER big. Out of all the books being sold on Amazon, Saltwater Kisses is the 35th most popular. That means that todayĀ I am more popular today than the Hunger Games books, James Patterson, Nora Roberts, and The Fifty Shades of Grey books.Ā Ā  Holy fricken cow.

I am in shock.Ā This doesn't feel real at all.Ā Those people are real authors. I'm just having a great time writing the stories in my head while my son naps! IĀ love that people are enjoying it half as much as they are, and I really appreciate everyone who has left a review or bought a copy. This wouldn't be possible without wonderful readers.

I am eternally grateful to the Insatiable Reads Tour for getting me going on this. If it wasn't for the AMAZINGĀ authors on the tour (seriously, check them out), I would never have gotten thisĀ written. It is becauseĀ of them IĀ even tried my hand at writing a full length novel. It is their feedback that made my cover as pretty as it is, it is their skill at cleaning up my blurb and their encouragement to keep trying.

Plus, if you sign up for some of the tour stuff, there are some AWESOME prizes (like a Kindle Fire, gift cards, free books- awesome stuff).

So, basically, I would just like to thank this dream of a week to the amazing authors of the Insatiable Reads Tour, and all of you fantastic readers. I am going to go run around the house dancing like a crazy person and wait for my alarm clock to go off and wake me from this dream.
